Biography

Glenn Corneille was born on July 12th 1970 in Venlo, The Netherlands. He studied Lecturing as well as Performing Musician Jazz/Light Music at the Maastricht Conservatorium, graduating 'Cum Laude' in both disciplines based on his brilliant musicality, technique, tactics, performance and ideas. At the same conservatorium he continued as a lecturer in piano performance and gave several workshops for the SLIM foundation in Limburg and SWING in Alkmaar.

Through all these years Glenn has evolved as a multi-talented musician impossible to categorize in a single style. Consequently, he is active as a freelance musician, arranger, composer and band leader in different settings. Jazz might function as a red thread throughout his musical career, with the Corneille Roelofs Trio as one of his most inventive ongoing projects to date. In June 2000 he received the 'BEST NEW JAZZTALENT' award at the DUTCH JAZZ COMPETITION. The jury was highly impressed by his beautifully personal and sincere sound. But without a doubt, the Trio's 2001 performance at the North Sea Jazz festival has put them firmly on the sphere of contemporary Jazz.
